United Power, Inc. (United Power) is an electric cooperative, providing service to homes and commercial/industrial businesses throughout Colorado’s northern Front Range. The service territory extends from the mountains of Coal Creek and Golden Gate Canyons to the farmlands of Brighton, Hudson, and Keenesburg. Beginning in 1938 as Union Rural Electric with 300 miles of distribution line serving 750 members, United Power now manages 6,790 miles of distribution line serving nearly 110,000 meters. There are two noncontiguous areas that make up approximately 900 square miles that serve 17 communities.
