Women Who Mean Business is designed to create a welcoming and empowering environment where women can gather to share experiences, build meaningful relationships, develop leadership skills, and encourage one another through honest conversation and authentic connection.
The program is not intended to be a lecture series or rigid networking event. Instead, it is a community-driven conversation platform built around women who are willing to share the lessons they’ve learned through their personal and professional journeys.
The heart of the program is simple: “Real women sharing real experiences that create real impact.”
October's Conversation starter will be Laura Jensen of SendIt Screenworks. Laura will be leading the discussion and has chosen the topic "From Expert to Beginner: Permission to Be Bad at Something New" . She invites you to prepare mentally by asking yourself these questions:
- Why do we give other people grace when they are learning, but expect ourselves to get it right immediately?
- Why do we feel like we should already know the answer if we are doing something we have never done before?
- Why do we feel embarrassed to admit we are new at something?
- Is our fear of trying something new because we don't want others to see us struggle?
- How do we give ourselves, as women, permission to be a beginner again, after years of being an expert without feeling incompetent?
- How can you know what you don't know unless you give yourself a chance to learn!
